Howdy folks, since I don’t have much time to write today – I am actually going to Amsterdam for a Tenacious D. concert – I will keep it short and simple. You know by now how I love my classics: Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo, Venice, London, Sydney … Today you can add Florence to that list. I know, it might not sound that adventurous, but Florence is actually da bomb! Wait, I have decided not to use strange slang in this write-up. Florence is classy, Florence is beautiful, Florence is Italy at its best, Florence is one of my absolute favorites!
Man, I could only dream of going to Florence at the moment. While it’s raining cats and dogs in Antwerp – and it will probably rain even harder in Amsterdam – I’m drooling over the idea of sitting in the sun, drinking a Birra Moretti, licking an ice cream and enjoying the historical and beautiful surroundings. Man, how I’d love to visit the majestic Duomo today, the grand Uffizi museum or the stunning Galeria dell’Academia with its statue of David. My tips: go up in the Duomo to see the stunning ceiling and to have the best views of Florence. Visit the Boboli Gardens. Stay at the Michelangelo camp site, where you’ll meet the coolest of travellers. Go out and party Jersey Shore style. Get lost in the narrow streets, eat too much ice cream, drink too much wine, eat steak, avoid the Ponte Vecchio (just walk across once, that’s more than enough), try not to get into a fight with begging ladies. And enjoy every minute of your stay.
